Practice

Practice for holistic osteopathy in Bernau

Osteopathy is an independent, holistic form of medicine in which diagnosis and treatment are carried out with the hands.

Every person is unique and experiences their complaints in an individual way. Because complaints often do not arise where the symptoms are felt, functional connections and the interplay of the body’s various structures are central to our osteopathic treatments. This allows us to develop treatment concepts that are precisely tailored to your individual needs.

Process

How your osteopathic treatment works with us

An osteopathic treatment at our practice for holistic osteopathy lasts approximately 60 minutes.

1 Medical history

At the beginning, we take time for a detailed conversation. We talk about your current complaints, how they arose and how they make themselves felt. Earlier injuries, operations and particular strains can also provide important clues – so please bring any existing findings such as lab reports or doctors’ letters to your first appointment. These help us tailor the treatment optimally to you.

Please note: bring any existing findings (e.g. lab reports or doctors’ letters) to your first appointment.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

To book an appointment, please use the “Book an appointment” button. If you have not been treated by us before, please select the “Initial appointment” (Erstbehandlung) option when booking. Alternatively, you can send your appointment request by email to praxis@osteopathie-bernau.de. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

You can also reach our practice by phone at 0152 09218364. Please note that we cannot personally answer every call. Therefore, please leave a message on the answering machine with your phone number. We will then get back to you as soon as possible.

Please note that appointment cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the time reserved for you – by phone, email or WhatsApp.

We operate strictly by appointment (a “Bestellpraxis”). This means that very short-notice cancellations or missed appointments often lead to gaps that cannot be filled. We therefore reserve the right to charge you for a late cancellation or a missed appointment.

Osteopathic treatments are self-pay services. However, with a valid prescription, most health insurers contribute proportionally to the treatment costs. The amount of this contribution varies from insurer to insurer. Before booking, please check with your insurer about a proportional reimbursement for osteopathic treatments.

A treatment costs €104 (patients with statutory health insurance) and €114 (patients with private health insurance). An appointment lasts approximately 60 minutes in total.

Payment is made directly on site and cashless after the treatment. You pay conveniently right after the session by debit card (EC/Giro card) or contactless. Please bring a suitable electronic means of payment (e.g. a Giro or debit card). You will receive a receipt for your payment immediately. Should you ever forget your card, payment by invoice is also possible.

Many health insurers contribute to the costs of osteopathic treatments. However, the reimbursement terms of the individual insurers – regarding the scope and conditions of the cost contribution or reimbursement – are regulated very differently.

With most statutory health insurers, for example, it is important that a medical certificate for osteopathy is issued before the treatment begins. We therefore advise you to clarify questions and requirements regarding the reimbursement terms for your osteopathic treatment directly with your health insurer or supplementary insurance before your first osteopathy appointment.

All of our therapists demonstrably hold the qualifications and standards of service required by health insurers. We bill according to the German fee schedule for non-medical practitioners (Gebührenordnung für Heilpraktiker, GebüH) and are happy to provide you with a detailed invoice/receipt to submit to your health insurer if needed.

Osteopathic treatments are generally considered well tolerated. After a treatment, temporary reactions such as tiredness, muscle soreness, slight sensations of tension or even a short-term intensification of existing complaints can occur.

Such reactions can be an expression of the body’s adaptation and self-regulation processes in response to the manual impulses applied during the treatment. They usually subside within a few days. With certain conditions or acute medical states, an osteopathic treatment may be only partially indicated or not indicated at all. We are happy to advise you personally on this.

The onset of the effect is individual and depends strongly on the respective symptoms. With acute complaints such as lumbago (acute lower back pain) or acute blockages, the first noticeable improvements often occur within one to three days, directly after the first or second session. With chronic complaints such as long-standing back pain or migraine, however, the osteopathic treatment often extends over several weeks, as the body often needs time to regulate.

Do you have further questions about osteopathy or our practice? We are happy to take the time to answer them. Feel free to get in touch with us or book an appointment directly.
